After a two year break, Mountain Run got to play the sundown set at the Mayville Bluegrass Festival 2023.
What a great night at the Big Inlet Brewery in Mayville, NY. Fiddler Phil Banaczak was a great addition to our old trio. We also rolled out some new tunes, including several original pieces. I was a bit concerned that my hands would work properly, not to mention that this was our first show in two years, but the crowd was great, and Doug, Jim, and Phil are top notch pickers. Between the Mountain Run set and the All-star set, I managed to play two and a half hours without a hitch. I am beyond grateful for tho opportunity to be back on a festival stage. Next year, I’m definitely bringing my tent.
Now it’s time to start working on some solo gigs.
